Several key members of the 2010 DeMatha Basketball program made the choice to come in before school for a workout. They met twice a week to get in an hour long full body strength workout. They came back in the afternoon to do their quickness, reaction, and conditioning drills (followed by their skill work). Most of these players also played AAU on the weekend.With a 6:30am start time, this groups prided itself on "doing more before 7:00am than most programs do all day!"Our guys went HARD!This video includes highlights from two separate workouts. Some of the key exercises we did were: barefoot sandbag circuit (lunges, swings, push/press, sit-ups), 1 arm DB deadlift, step behind lunge, elevated hip raise, DB push-up/row, DB shoulder press matrix, DB squat, and explosive step-up.From 2:28-2:42 you can see the 4 levels of the "elevator" routine.
